Based in Bern, FUSOOSH! is a band with six different mother tongues, overflowing energy and a shared passion for groove. The musicians, identifiable by their blue overalls, are:

This well-oiled groove machine mixes influences from jazz, funk and hip-hop and the result is innovative music that you can’t help but dance to.
Elori Baume
Born in 1999 in Neuchâtel, Elori spent his childhood in Delémont. He started playing music at a very young age, setting his heart to the saxophone while learning other instruments – drums, piano, guitar, flute, clarinet, etc. – and composition. In 2017, he was admitted to the Hochschule der Künste Bern (HKB) in jazz, where he studied under Lutz Häfner, Django Bates, Dejan Terzic, Colin Vallon, Patrice Moret (…). He finished his master’s degree in music pedagogy in 2022.
Besides his activities with FUSOOSH!, he is active in many musical genres : he co-founded the “omnivorous jazz” quartet Octante-et-Onze and joined the hip-hop band Brassmaster Flash. While playing and composing for these three bands, he participates in projects as varied as big bands, musicals, free improvisation projects, occasional collaborations with DJs, rappers, pop singers etc…
Pere Molines
Born in 1994 in Calp (Spain), Pere Molines Tur is involved in the world of music from a very young age and starts playing the trombone at the age of nine.
He grows up with symphonic band music as his main foundation and graduates in the “José Pérez Barceló” (Benidorm) and “Óscar Esplá” (Alicante) conservatories in the classical trombone section. In addition, he extends his studies with various jazz and band conduction classes.
In 2018, Pere decides to move to Bern to pursue a bachelor’s degree in jazz trombone at the “Hochschule der Künste Bern” (HKB). Nowadays, he is pursuing a master’s degree in pedagogy in the same school. He is also an active musician, both in personal projects and in various modern and Balkan music groups throughout Switzerland. Having both classical and jazz training, he has been able to study with all kinds of internationally renowned teachers who have given him a very rich musical background.
Julien Ehrensperger
Born in 1996, Julien Misati Ehrensperger is a Swiss and Kenyan electric guitar player and composer. He was born in Biel/Bienne, spent part of his childhood in Kenya, and spent his youth in La Neuveville along the shores of the beautiful lake of Biel.
Hard Rock and Metal music were the first genres that seriously triggered his interest in the electric guitar. Today, he remains active in both as the guitarist of Nevborn, a progressive rock band from Neuchâtel, and with his own progressive metal band: Collision Course. In addition, he is also a co-organiser of the Lucifest Metal Festival in Neuchâtel.
Julien made his way into jazz music via his studies at the Swiss Jazz School – where he studied the guitar with Jörg Enz – and later at Bern’s University of the Arts (HKB), where he is currently pursuing a master’s degree in music pedagogy and composition. He has been studying with teachers such as Ronny Graupe, Django Bates, Ralph Alessi, Dejan Terzic, Colin Vallon, Patrice Moret, Tom Arthurs and many more. Besides playing with Collision Course and Nevborn, Julien is also the guitarist of the groove band FUSOOSH!, he plays in the guitar-voice duo Jeen and is the guitarist of the “omnivorous jazz” quartet Octante-et-Onze.
Daniel Hernandez
Born in 1995, Daniel Hernandez is a Swiss pianist and composer of Russian and Colombian origin.
He begins his musical journey at the age of eight in Fribourg’s music conservatory in the classical piano section. He then changes his studies in 2012 to study jazz piano with Stefan Aeby.
After finishing his studies in Fribourg (del Soto prize) in 2018, he enters Bern’s University of the Arts (HKB) in the jazz department where he studies with Colin Vallon, Django Bates, Ralph Alessi… He is also one of the winners of the Friedl Wald 2021 scholarship. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in jazz performance at the HKB.
Based in Fribourg, he is active in several jazz, hip hop and electronic projects in the region and regularly plays on local stages.
Ulysse Loup
Born in 1997 in Neuchâtel, Ulysse Loup is a Swiss composer, bassist and performer.
He begins his bass studies at the age of ten in Geneva and later on continues to the pre-professional training of the AMR (Association Musiques impRovisées)- CPMDT (popular conservatory) directed by the saxophonist Ohad Talmor. Ulysse then passes the entrance exams to the HKB (Bern University of the Arts) directed by the trumpet player Tom Arthurs and is accepted in Stephan Rademacher’s class. There he pursues a complete curriculum combining theory, practice of the instrument and composition under the supervision of important jazz personalities such as Django Bates, Ralph Alessi, Stefan Schultze, Colin Vallon, Ronny Graupe, etc…. He’s now pursuing a Master’s degree in « Contemporary Jazz » at the HKB.
Ulysse is pursuing his career as a composer-performer at the same time and has toured all over Switzerland with different projects.
After having scoured the Swiss scene as a sideman, Ulysse Loup is now concentrating on his own projects. He is preparing his first album scheduled for November 2022 with the pianist Daniel Hernandez and the drummer Michael Cina. He’s composing and playing for different projects mixing free improvisation, new music, performance and Jazz. He is also involved in cross-over performances with the actor René Claude Emery.
Xavier Kaeser
Born in 1997 in Sierre, Xavier Kaeser started playing the drums at the age of eleven at the EJMA (Ecole de Jazz et de Musique Actuelle) with Luigi La Marca as his first teacher. He made his first musical experiences in jazz big bands to then take a more in-depth musical direction within a university. He later completed a bachelor’s degree in jazz at the Bern University of the Arts (HKB) where he studied with Django Bates, Frank Sikora, Andreas Schaerer, Matthieu Michel, Ronny Graupe, Bert Joris, (…). Xavier is currently finishing his second year of master’s in jazz performance in Bern and is perfecting his instrument under the teaching of Dejan Terzic, Julian Sartorius, Jim Black and Jeff Ballard.
Besides his activities with FUSOOSH!, he participates in many different projects that range from free jazz to gospel, to pop, big bands, funk, folk and more. To name a few, Xavier has already performed live or recorded in studio with artists such as Enrico Pieranunzi, Ralph Alessi, Django Bates, Andreas Schaerer, Colin Vallon, Patrice Moret, Florian Favre, Fabien Iannone, Moncef Genoud, Letieres Leite (…).
